This bookstore shut down last year, but we're temporarily open again NOW THROUGH JULY 31st for customers placing orders of $35 or more. Shipments will go out twice per week (typically Tuesday and Saturday). We've cut prices on most of our inventory and magazines will be sold at a 20% discount, which will be calculated after your order is placed. Shipping is a flat rate of $3.50 media mail for US orders.

Every sale should have a goal. This time, the goal is to free up enough space in the office that I can give that (bigger) bedroom to my two boys, Aidan and Eamonn. So, don't just look at it as simply buying books, you're making two little boys very happy.

Description:

Returning to his Brooklyn neighborhood after two years in prison, Johnny Danetello (aka Dane) knows a showdown with his former best friend, mobster Vinny Monticelli, is on the horizon. An apathetic and aloof cab driver, Dane unknowingly escorted teenaged Angelina Monticelli to a drug meeting where she died from poisoned dope. After a crazed ride to the hospital in order to save her life, Dane runs over a traffic cop and is sentenced to prison where a contract is put out on him.

As teenagers, Dane and Vinny shared a tragic night when–after stealing a car and hours of joyriding-- they went through a windshield together and suffered severe head wounds. As a possible result, each now possessed different psychic abilities.

Dane sees ghosts and other bizarre figures, and has the capacity to go for a "night ride"–wherein he can pick up the soul of a sleeping person, converse with them and receive only truthful answers.

Vinny is capable of traveling through three tracks of slightly alternate realities and choosing whichever one suits his needs. Only Dane is aware of when Vinny is traveling between realities, flickering in and out of space/time.

Taking a job as a limousine driver, Dane is drawn into a relationship with B-movie star Glory Bishop, whose Hollywood producer husband has gone to prison for drug trafficking. The shadowy presence of an FBI agent named Daniel Ezekiel Cogan only complicates matters more, as Dane tries to figure out what Cogan wants with either Glory, Vinny's mob, or himself.

The spectres of his parents, a boy with a sick brain who may or may not be a ghost (or an alternate version of himself), and various thugs intrude upon his life. Prodded by the ghosts of Angelina and other dead neighbors, and driven by his unrequited love for Angelina's older sister, the beautiful and unreachable Maria Monticelli, Dane faces down hitmen, supernatural forces, and the dark corners of his own past as he becomes more involved with the criminal underworld and seeks to settle all his accounts with the living and the dead.
