The Polka Dot Cottage Is CLOSED!

After 18 months in business, the Polka Dot Cottage is closing its doors - maybe temporarily, maybe for good. That remains to be seen. When I first started PDC, I was trying to build on what I'd had with the original Polka Dot Cottage: my 2AM BBS that ran from my home via dialup from 1993 to 1997. I had hoped to establish a small core group of visitors who would post about crafty, homey things. And while there have been periods here of fervent activity, most of the purporters of said activity were people I knew from one other board. I never did manage to attract that diverse, new crowd I was looking for. While there's nothing wrong with hanging around with people you already know, why reinvent the wheel if there's already an existing place to visit with them?

So, given the lack of activity, lack of new faces, and lack of time on my part to truly pump this place up to the level that I had envisioned for it, I am closing the doors to the Polka Dot Cottage. I am not bulldozing it, however. You can still visit the various rooms if there's something you want to read. You just won't be able to post anything new there.

Additionally, if you know me at all, you know that I am still going to want to talk about the subjects that I tried to cover here. I've been doing just that on my blog recently. You're welcome to drop by the Polka Dot Creations Blog any time, see what I'm up to, send me a comment, or just keep in touch.
